Archive for the ‘Me’ Category

I have been reading up lately on the benefits of working whilst stood up. They include weight loss, improved posture and other health gains.

After dropping numerous hints and directly asking for a standing desk at work I decided to bite the bullet and build my own by following some simple steps from this site

I bought the parts lat week and built the desk on Friday. I left it until about 14:30 this afternoon and then installed my new standing desk attachment and used it for the last 2 1/2 hours of the day.

First impressions are

1. I feel very conspicuous in the office.

2. Everyone in the office thinks they’re a comedian.

3. It feels quite natural and I felt better at the end of the day than I did at the start.

4. It will take some time to get used to it so I will use it tomorrow morning until it gets too much and try again on Friday.

Here’s a couple of pics.

The setup.

Me looking studious.

And Back In The Room

I suppose I better post a picture, life has been very busy the past few weeks so any chance for a snooze is taken.

Here’s a recent pic of Bex and Ali.

Lauren has been impersonating a Star Wars Super Battle Droid.

I Can, You Can, Dukan

Just before Harrison was born I finished phase 2 of the Dukan Diet, on which I had lost 3 1/2 stone. Phase 3, which consolidates the weight loss, proved a little tricky and when I weighed myself 2 weeks ago I had put 3 stone back on. I’m now back on the diet and I’ve lost 4.4 pounds already, hopefully when I’ve lost all the weight I can keep it off this time. I’m now on day 17 and I have done at least 30 minutes of exercise on each of these days.

Here’s a picture of Harrison concentrating hard, or filling his nappy!

Boxed Off

Tomorrow we make the long trip north to Gretna Green as we are getting married on Tuesday. It’s going to be a quiet ceremony and we’ll have a party sometime in the new year to celebrate.

We’ve both had busy weeks, I finally admitted my age and bought a cardy from M&S.

As the weather may be chilly Bec and I tried on some fetching warm hats.

Lauren was full of beans this weekend.

Harrison has been his usual happy self.

I’d like to take a vote on whether we are Mr and Mrs Jones or Mr and Mrs Box-Jones.

Stag Night

Bec and I are getting married in 2 weeks so a few beers and some fat bastard food was in order this weekend with some good friends.

We also visited the Xmas fair at Higham, here’s Jim and Harrison after we headed home to leave the girls some shopping time.

Olympic Park

I had a meeting today at the Boots store in the new Westfield shopping centre at the Olympic Park. No pics I’m afraid as there’s big fences everywhere.

Here’s H having a sprint round the sitting room before heading of to Shona’s.

Lauren and I dragged our lazy backsides out of bed and went to karate this morning, the first time in 3 weeks.

We then went to find some conkers in order to keep the spiders out of the house. It worked when we lived in Pytchley.

Alison came to visit so had to have the obligatory photo with the boy.
